James "Jim" Anderson

Arlington Citizen Friday, June 10, 2022 Jim Anderson of Sun City West, Ariz., passed away on May 23, 2022, after a long battle with esophageal cancer. He was born Dec. 31, 1948, in Omaha, but raised in Arlington. He was the son of the late John and Betty Anderson.

He is survived by his wife, Connie; daughter Becky (Eric) of Pagosa Springs, Colo. and grandchildren, Milo and Veda; son, Ben of Longmont, Colo.; brother, Tom (Rita) of Indian Wells, Calif.; sister-in-law Ruth (Brian) of Houston, Texas; aunt, Beverly Meller of Colorado Springs, Colo. and cousin, Sue of Denver, Colo.

Jim was active in his Arlington youth in all athletics, scouting and was a member of Arlington Community Church. He was also an avid hunter. Upon graduation from AHS, Jim attended Kearney State College where he played football. He remained in Kearney, later working in real estate until retiring to Arizona. While in Kearney, Jim was active in Elks, Shriners and on the EMT squad at Johnson Lake. Jim was an avid, life-long water skier who also earned his private pilot license.

Jim's retirement years in Sun City West were spent golfing, working at the community's golf course, and doing handyman work for his neighbors and friends.

Memorials are welcomed to the Arlington Community Church or the Arlington Scout Troops.
