#1 The Pilot March 5, 1913 James Charles Gillette, Jr. died at his home in north Blair a little after midnight last Saturday night, following a paralytic stroke received about two weeks ago. The funeral was held at the house at 10 o'clock Monday, Rev. G. W. Stansbury officiating.

He was born at Sidney, Ia., Sept. 22, 1851, and was therefore past 61 years of age. He was married to Mrs. Edith Stricklett some five years ago, the wife and one son, Raymond, surviving him. He is also survived by his mother, Mrs. Margaret Anderson and two sons by a former marriage, Steve, of Hot Springs, S. D., and Glen of Modale, Ia., who with their families were here to attend the funeral. A half-sister, Mrs. May Sawyer, of Omaha was also here.

#2 The Enterprise March 7, 1913, Blair, Nebraska

Chas. Gillett, a bridge carpenter, died at his home in this city Sunday, March 2. Mr. Gillett was at his work regularly up to the time of his illness and supposed it to be a bad cold. A stroke paralysis followed that caused his death. The funeral was held on Monday and interment made in the Blair Cemetery.

On Sunday morning, James C. Gillette, Jr., died at his home in Blair, aged 61 years. He had been ill for three weeks, having suffered a stroke of paralysis. He leaves a wife and one child, his mother, Mrs. Margaret Baldwin, and other relatives. He was a carpenter by trade and worked for the railroad for a number of years.

Funeral services were held at the home Monday morning, conducted by Rev. G.W. Stansbury.
