December 10, 1908- Arlington Review-Herald- Susannah Mock

Mrs. Susan Mock, a pioneer resident of Arlington was found dead in her home on Elkhorn street Monday morning by Mrs. F.H. Heuermann. On entering the room Mrs. Heuermann found Mrs. Mock sitting in her chair, with the lamp still burning on a table nearby. The visitor at once surmised that she was in the presence of death and gave the alarm. Dr. Davies visited the Mock home and declared that she had been dead several hours which was no doubt caused by heart failure. The funeral was held Wednesday afternoon, interment at the Arlington cemetery. The service was conducted by Rev. Esph…of the M.E. church in the presence of a large audience of relatives and friends.

Mrs. Mock was born in ……..county, Pa. 1881 and was married to John D. Mock in 1851, who served in the Union army during the war of rebellion. In 1874 they moved to Omaha, where Mr. Mock died during the year 1875. For 25 years deceased lived in Arlington where she was well and favorably known as a faithful follower of Christ, a loyal member of the Methodist Episcopal church. She leaves to mourn their loss, four daughters and one son. All with one exception were present at the funeral. They are A.B. Mock, Belvidere, Ill.; Mrs. Edd Daniels, Blair, Neb.; Mrs. John B. Adams and Mrs. P.M. Hetrick of Rosalie, Ne.
