HENRY STRENGER, PIONEER, IS DEAD

LONG A RESIDENT OF TELBASTA, MR. STRENGER, 87, DIED TUESDAY

Henry Strenger, 87, early pioneer resident of the vicinity north of Arlington, died last Tuesday morning at his Telbasta home.

Born in Germany January 24, 1850, a son of Mr. and Mrs. John Strenger, he came to this country at the age of five years, coming to Nebraska in 1878. At the age of 14 he was confirmed at Salem Evangelical church at Quincy, Illinois, and on October 19, 1879, he was married to Anna Gnuse, who died January 6, 1930.

Seven children were born to the couple, all of whom survive. They are John S. Strenger of Telbasta, Henry of Fontanelle, William of Telbasta, Mrs. Amelia Wilkening of Fontanelle, George of Telbasta, Edward of Oakland and Mrs. Luella Meierhenry of Telbasta. There are 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Other survivors include four sisters, Mrs. Rickie Seifert of Chicago, Mrs. Anna Koenig of Quincy, Mrs. Mary Bentrup of Fremont and Mrs. Minnie Henneman of Winslow.

Funeral services were held Friday at 1 p.m. at the home, and at 1:30 o'clock at the Telbasta Evangelical church, with interment following at Telbasta.
