Rodger Keith Bauer, 76 of Blair, passed peacefully at the Josie Harper Hospice House on Aug. 9, 2022, after a long illness. Burial will be held Friday, Sept.16 at 11 a.m. in the Blair Cemetery. A celebration of life will follow at the Blair VFW Post 1251.

Rodger was born Aug. 1, 1946. He attended Blair High School where he excelled in football, basketball and track and field. He was drafted into the Army and was stationed in Panama. While in Panama, he met and married Delphina Hernandez. Upon returning to the states, they welcomed daughter Miayoshis (Mia) into their family. Rodger worked many years as a bricklayer and concrete finisher for Runyon and Long and also Jorgensen Contracting until his retirement. On March 17, 1984, he and Charlotte Paine were joined in marriage and enjoyed 32 years together before her passing. Rodger leaves behind a wealth of friends and family.

Rodger was preceded in death by his parents: Ann Hahn and Ralph (Virginia) Bauer; wife Charlotte, stepchildren: Susan Paine-Gunchick and Carl Paine; step grandson Jake Gunchick. He is survived by his daughter Mia (Brain) Fuller of Liberty, S.C.; stepdaughters: Mary Blobaum and Jean (Steve) Beck of Blair; stepson Tom (Carol) Paine of Herman; stepdaughter-in-law Cyndy Paine; sister Barbara Lane of Reno, Nev.; step siblings: Connie Sylvis and Ron Sylvis of Omaha; nieces and nephews and dear friend Dick Alback.

Memorials may be directed to the Blair VFW Post 1251, Hain Flynn American Legion or Jeanette Hunt Animal Shelter.
