Funeral services for Margaret E. Allen, 95, of Blair, will be h eld at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2002, at St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Blair. Interment will be in the Allen Cemetery. Mrs. Allen died Thursday, Jan. 10, at Crowell Memorial Home.

Margaret Ellen Allen was born March 3, 1906, in Burwell to John and Margaret (Dey) Walford. She graduated from Burwell High School and then attended nursing school at Methodist Hospital in Omaha, becoming a registered nurse.

She was married to Stanley Pierce Allen; he preceded her in death in 1982.

Mrs. Allen had lived in Blair since 1984. She was a published author and poet. She was a member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church, Eastern Star, Monday Afternoon Club, Washington County Nurses Association, and PEO Chapter EQ.

She was also past president of the Wranch School PTA, 4-H leader and district supervisor of "Make it Yourself With Wool" for eight years. In 1963, she was honored as Washington County Homemaker of the Year.

She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and Robert Lammers of Lewellen, Claudia and William Chase of Rapid City, S.D., Joan and Richard Jahr of Nokomis, Fla., 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Sue Reynoldson.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home in Blair is in charge of arrangements.
