Survived by his loving wife, Patricia (Trish) Rand; daughter, Melinda Rand-Doxzon (Skip Doxzon); sons: James (Tera) Rand, and Robert (Wendy) Rand; daughters-in-law, Cheryl Rand and Terry George; sister, Mary (Roger) Wohlers and Sherry Chantland; sister-in-law, Charlene McCormick; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren (Baby Doxzon due January 2023); numerous nieces, nephews and their families, special friends and travel companions.

FUNERAL: Wednesday at 11am at First United Methodist Church in Blair, with INTERMENT at the Blair Cemetery. VISITATION: Tuesday 5-8pm at Campbell Aman Funeral Home in Blair.

John R. (Bob) Rand, passed away Sept. 22, 2022, at his home in Missouri Valley. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2022, at 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Blair. Military graveside services will follow in the Blair Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday, Sept. 27, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Campbell Aman Funeral Home in Blair.

John R. (Bob) Rand was born June 15, 1939. His life began March 3, 1942, when he came to the farm in Missouri Valley to be the son of Tjarbe John and Fannie (Haight) Rand. He joined the U. S. Air Force in 1956. He graduated from Blair High School in 1957.

John married Patricia (Trish) McCormick on March 18, 1956, and to this union was born Robert, Leota and Fannie (twin daughters), Melinda, James and Tjarbe. John drove for Red Ball Motor Freight in Denver, Colorado and Dallas, Texas for 13 years before moving back to the farm in Missouri Valley. John loved old cars, trains, trucks and tractors. However, the loves of his life were his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

John is preceded in death by his parents Tjarbe John and Fannie Catherine (Haight) Rand, twin infant daughters, son Tjarbe John, siblings: Juanita Erickson Johnson, Rita Zeutlau, Eugene Smith; brothers-in-law: James McCormick and Kerm Chantland; nephews: Michael McCormick and Roger Erickson.

John is survived by his loving wife Patricia (Trish) Rand, daughter Melinda Rand-Doxzon (Skip Doxzon), sons: James (Tera) Rand and Robert (Wendy) Rand; daughters-in-law Cheryl Rand and Terry George; sister Mary (Roger) Wohlers and Sherry Chantland and sister-in-law Charlene McCormick; 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren (Baby Doxzon due January 2023); numerous nieces, nephews and their families, special friends and travel companions Bob and Nancy King, Missouri family; Kerry Dickmann, Pat and Peg Callahan, Terry and Joyce Stainbrook, Audrey Rooks and Mike Szemplenski.

Memorials may be directed to Blair First United Methodist Church or the Missouri Valley Rescue Squad.
