Charles Americus Green

Chas. A. Green passed away at his home at Dexterville, the old Newton place about 5:30 last Wednesday evening of kidney and liver trouble. He had been ailing for some time but was seriously ill just a week prior to his death.

The funeral was held at the Christian Church at 2:30 Friday, Rev. L. H. Camp officiating. Burial was in the Blair Cemetery.

Mr. Green was born in Elgin, Ill., August 31st, 1855, so would have been 69 had he lived until past August.

He came to this county in 1885 and was united in marriage to Mary H. Grothe August 8th, 1894. Seven children were born to them, all whom survive him, besides the wife. They are Floyd, Anna, Bessie, Carl, Glen and Everett of this city, and Roy of Pender, also one step-son, Oscar Grothe of DeSoto and two nieces who have who have made their home with him, Mildred and Geraldine Hittle.
