Mrs. Green, 68, Is Dead

Mary Green, whose son Everett "Perk" Green was killed in action in Europe a year ago, died yesterday morning at the home of her son, Ore Green, Park and Center Streets. Ailing for some time Mrs. Green had been bedfast since November. She was 68. The body was taken to the Campbell Mortuary. Services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday at the First Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Blair Cemetery.

Mrs. Green was born in Ohio June 17, 1877, as Mary H. Gustin, daughter of Mr. And Mrs. Samuel J. Gustin. She came with them to Nebraska as an infant and has spent practically her entire life in Blair. She was married to John Grothe and after his death was married to Charles Green. Mr. Green died in 1924.

Surviving Mrs. Green are five sons, Oscar Grothe Sr. of Tekamah, Floyd and Roy Green of Blair, Carl and Glenn Green of Herman and four daughters, Miss. Grace Grothe of Norfolk, Mrs. Anna Green Hampton and Mrs. Mildred Green Milton, both of Omaha and Mrs. Anton Zander of Craig. Other survivors include five brothers, Police Chief Willard E. Gustin, Boone Gustin and Dave Gustin, all of Blair, Howard Gustin of Rockford, Illinois, and Walter Gustin of Morganza, California.

MRS. MARY GREEN RITES NEXT SUNDAY

Mrs. Mary H. Green, long time resident of this community, passed away at her home early Wednesday of this week. She was making her home with her son, Roy of West Park Street, at the time of her death.

Mrs. Green was born June 17, 1868 in Ohio, and came to Washington County with her parents at an early age. She has made Blair her home since that time.

She was the mother of nine children, all of whom survive. They are: Carl Green and Glenn Green of Herman; Floyd and Roy Green of Blair; Mrs. Anna Hampton and Mrs. Mildred Melton of Omaha; and Mrs. Anton Zander of Craig, Nebraska. By a previous marriage there were Oscar Grothe of Herman and Grace Grothe of Norfolk, Nebraska.

The deceased was a sister of Dave, Boone and W. E. Gustin, all of this vicinity.

Services will be held from the Methodist church Sunday afternoon at two o’clock with Campbell Mortuary in charge.
