Roy Green Dies Here

Seven-month illness proves fatal Tuesday night to Roy Green, 52, of 401 North Center St. in Blair. He had been suffering from cancer and recently returned from an Omaha hospital to Blair hospital. Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Friday Saint Francis Borgia Catholic Church in Blair, the Rev. Edward C. O'Donnell officiating. The Campbell Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. Burial will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery. Rosary will be recited at 3 p.m. tonight at the mortuary.

Mr. Green was an employee of the State Highway Department and for a number of years worked in Florence. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Putnam Green; son, Joseph Green of Blair; daughter, Mrs. Robert L. Morris or Mary of Jefferson City, Missouri, and Patricia Green of Blair; two sisters, Mrs. Bessie Zander and Ann Hampton of Omaha; three brothers, Boyd and Carl of Blair and Glen of Herman. Oscar Grothe of Blair, a half-brother also survives. A brother, Perk Green, was killed in World War II.

ROY GREEN RITES FRIDAY

Roy Green, a native of Blair, died at the Blair Hospital Tuesday at 11:15 p.m. He had been ill for some time and the end was not unexpected.

Deceased was born January 6, 1899 and grew to manhood here. On May 22, 1931 he was married to Miss Evelyn Putnam, the marriage ceremony being performed in the local Catholic Church. To them three children were born, Joseph of Blair; Mrs Robert Morris of Jefferson City, Missouri; and Patricia at home and these with the bereaved mother mourn the loss of a father and husband.

Besides the immediate family, he leaves four brothers and two sisters. Two half sisters preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 9:00 o’clock with Father O’Donnell officiating, and interment under the supervision of the Campbell Mortuary will be made in the Holy Cross cemetery.
