MR. HASTINGS FUNERAL HELD

EDWARD NORMAN HASTINGS, 47, EX-COUNTIAN, DIES IN CALIFORNIA Funeral services were held at the Bendorf Funeral Home chapel in Blair for Edward Norman Hastings, 47, former countian who died in Stockton, Calif. Monday, Apr. 8. Burial followed in the Blair Cemetery. Pallbearers were Harvey Hansen, Harold Stork, Gifford French, Eugene French, and Melvin Sorensen, all nephews, and Rasmus Hansen.

Mr. Hastings, son of Mr. and Mrs. James R. Hastings, was born on a farm near Blair Sept. 30, 1909. When 10 he moved with his parents into Blair, where he attended the city schools. Later he lived at Rushville for some time, later going to the west coast. For the past 15 years he had resided at Stockton.

Unmarried, Mr. Hastings is survived by a brother, Don J. Hastings of Columbus, Mont.; and four sisters, Mrs. Fanny Nav of Westminster, B.C., Mrs. Arthur Jones (Hazel) of Ferndale, Wash., Mrs. Bernice Binkley of Seattle, Wash., and Mrs. Cassie Hansen of Arlington. Miss Irene Hastings of Blair is a cousin. His parents, three brothers and a sister preceded him in death.
