SERVICES FOR FRED JENSEN ARE DEC. 1

Services for Fred H. Jensen will be held on Thursday, December 1 at the First Methodist Church in Blair. Rev. Fritzmeier will officiate with services in charge of Campbell Mortuary. The services will start at 2 p.m.

Fred H. Jensen was born in Washington County on a farm southwest of Blair near the former Gardner School on Nov. 14, 1892 to Jens and Mary Jensen. He passed away on November 26, 1977 at the age of 85 years and 2 weeks, at Tompkins Health Center, Ft. Dodge, Iowa, where he moved April, 1977 to be near his daughter.

He entered World War I and served in the Infantry in France in 1918 and returned with Honorable Discharge from Camp Dodge, Iowa, June 14, 1919.

He and Petra Peterson were married March 24, 1920 and they farmed the Rose Hill area for several years before moving to Sutherland district and farming there 45 years.

Mr. Jensen served on the School Board for Sutherland School for many years. He was a member of the First Methodist Church and the V.F.W. Mr. Jensen held a wide acquaintance in Washington County and had a host of friends who thought highly of him.

In 1969, they moved to Blair. His wife preceded him in death on November 29, 1974.

His two daughters survive, Joanne Morrow, Ft. Dodge, Iowa and Jean Bennett, Longmont, Colorado. Also eight grandchildren.

One grandson, Jim Bennett, preceded him in death in 1975.

There are 4 great-grandchildren. A sister, Alice Therklesen lives in Blair.
