HANS C. JENSEN IS BURIED SATURDAY

Hans C. Jensen, former Orum blacksmith who died last Thursday at Bancroft, was buried in Orum Cemetery Saturday afternoon, services at the grave being in charge of the I.O.O.F. lodge. Mr. Jensen had been a member for 45 years.

FORMER CONTAIN DIES AT BANCROFT

Hans C. Jensen, well known in the Orum neighborhood where for years he conducted a blacksmithing business, died at Bancroft on January 5 following a stroke on the previous Saturday. At his passing he was past seventy five years of age.

Deceased was born in Denmark and came to Blair in 1880. He was united in marriage on July 17, 1882 to Dorothea Christiansen, and located in Orum where he followed his trade of blacksmith.

To this union four children were born, one dying in infancy and another at the age of nineteen years.

The wife passed on in 1905, but he continued the business in Orum until 1913 when he moved to Bancroft and went into the blacksmith business with a son. He retired in 1927.

He joined the Odd Fellow lodge in 1890 and was a faithful and consistent member, and at the last sad rites which were held in the Orum cemetery on January 16, his fellow lodge members conducted the ceremonies at the grave.

He leaves one son, Jens P. Jensen of Shenandoah, Iowa and one daughter, Mrs. Venus Pratt of McCracken, Kansas.
