Ned Miller, age 82, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, at his home in Blair on December 4, 2022. Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM Friday, December 9, 2022, at Hillside Christian Church in Blair. Visitation will be held prior to services beginning at 10:00AM. Graveside services will be held at the Blair Cemetery.

Ned was born on December 21, 1939, in Imperial, Nebraska, the son of Howard and Helen Miller. After the family moved to Kennard, Nebraska, Ned attended Kennard High School graduating in 1958. After graduation he was employed by CON-E-CO Equipment Company. On November 7, 1959, Ned was united in marriage to Mary Kay Uehling. In 1963 Ned was a business partner in Ft. Calhoun Welding and Repair. He later went on to work at Ft. Calhoun Stone where he eventually became a supervisor and later retired in 2003. Ned was a member of the First Christian Church and was baptized in Christ in 1975. As a longtime member of the church Ned served in multiple roles, including the Chairman of the Board and as an elder. He was passionately involved with the planning and building of the new First Christian Church on 28th Avenue. Ned personally spearheaded the instillation of the steeple and cross, which he transported from Texas in 2003. Ned and Mary Kay enjoyed membership in two antique car clubs with his restored 1929 REO Flying Cloud Coupe, and traveling together during their retired years.

Ned is survived by his wife Mary Kay, daughters Cindy Miller and Kathy (Tony) Bender, grandchildren; Derek (Laura) Bender, Brett (Nicky) Bender, Heather Drew and Heidi (Jon) Knedler, 4 great-grandchildren; Teddy and Macy Drew, Krew Bender and Phoenix Knedler, brother in law Jerry Uehling, and extended family including; Peggy Uehling, Dave (Connie) Woodring, Don (Linda) Woodring, Duane (Shelly) Woodring, Connie Custard, Bill (Glenda) Rathjen, Lois (Norlan) Rasmussen, Lynn (Kathy) Waring and Judy McConaughy.

Ned was preceded in death by his parents.
