Anderson, Anne Christine

September 21, 1961 - December 14, 2022

Anne slept away peacefully at her home in Omaha early on December 14, surrounded by her family.

Anne was born in South Pasadena, California, the eldest child of William and Elizabeth Anderson. She grew up in Ann Arbor, Michigan. She attended Ann Arbor Public Schools, graduating from Ann Arbor Pioneer High School in 1979. She went on to earn a BA in Art and Design from Iowa State University in 1984, then an MA in Art and Design (Surface Design) from the University of Michigan in 1993, and a Museum Practice Certificate from the Minneapolis Institute of Art in 1995. She lived and worked in Minneapolis, until she moved to Omaha in 1996.

Anne felt loyal to her family's Midwest roots. She loved living in Nebraska's fresh air and sunshine.

She especially loved being near her maternal grandparents here in Nebraska, and her paternal grandmother in Iowa. She treasured her longtime friendship with her Iowa State pals.

Anne was a gentle soul who had an eye for the beauty in nature. A walk in Grandpa's woods was a favorite activity. One can see this love of nature as a major influence in her work. Anne's career involved doing wall hangings, online fabric design, and various commissions used in interior design.

Anne was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Christine and Waldo Kruse of Ft. Calhoun; and by her paternal grandparents, Frank and Agnes Anderson of Yale, Iowa. In addition to her parents, Anne is survived by her sister, Ellen Anderson (Edward Reilly); her brother, Glen Anderson (Simone); and her four nieces: Dale, Paige, Quinn and Tess Anderson. She is also survived by several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Family and friends are cordially invited to a visitation preceding the service. This will be on Thursday, Dec. 22, 2022 at 1pm at the Sievers-Sprick Funeral Home in Ft. Calhoun, Nebraska. A CELEBRATION OF LIFE SERVICE will follow at 2pm, then inurnment at the Ft. Calhoun Cemetery will conclude the day.

Anne's family wishes to thank everyone who showed Anne so much kindness during her years in Omaha, and especially during these last few months when she had to meet the challenges of her illness as well as her many-years' struggle with CFIDS (Chronic Fatigue Immune Dysfunction Syndrome.)

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Open Medicine Foundation (omf.ngo). OMF is one of the leading organizations doing research in CFIDS.
