Samuel J. Gustin died at his home farm in the Cumings City neighborhood at 2:10 Wednesday afternoon of pneumonia following an illness of about two weeks. He had been an asthma suffer for years, and an attack of pneumonia was serious from the start. The funeral was held at the Methodist Church in this city at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon, Rev. W. H. Underwood officiating.

Mr. Gustin was born August 28, 1848, in Scioto County, Ohio, and was married there to Miss Louisa Jane Green September 1, 1866. They came to this state in 1878 and have lived here ever since. Nine children were born to them; seven with the widow survive, Mrs. Mary H. Green of Blair, Dave A. of Herman, Mrs. Louise Hittle of Omaha, Ernest Eugene of Walthill, Walter Leroy of Morganza, Louisiana, Howard C. who lives at home and William E. who lives near this city. He also leaves two brothers, Phillip of Orchard, Nebraska, and Charles E. of Tekamah; two sisters, Mrs. N. A. Bookaw and Mrs. W. H. Hudson both of Plattsmouth, Ohio.

S. J. Gustin Dead

Samuel Jefferson Gustin, died at the family home, Wednesday, May 16, at 2:10 p.m., after an illness of two weeks.

Deceased was born Aug. 23, 1848, in Scioto County, Ohio, and came to Nebraska in 1878. He was married Sept. 21, 1866, to Louise Jane Green. He reared a family of nine children, six boys and three girls, seven of who with the widow survive him. They are Mrs. Harry H. Green, of Blair; David A., Herman; Anna Louise Hittle, Omaha; Ernest Eugene, Walthill; Walter Le Roy, Morganza La., Howard C. who lives at home and William E. who lives near Blair. Two brothers, Phillip G. Orchard, Neb., and Charles E. near Tekamah; two sisters, Mrs. N. A. Bookaw, and Mrs. W. H. Hudson, both of Portsmouth, Ohio also survive. Funeral was at 2 o’clock, Friday, at the M. E. Church, Rev. Underwood officiating, and the remains laid to rest in the Blair Cemetery.
