Former Blair resident Virginia R. (Woodard) Welch, 98, of Lakewood, Colo., died peacefully in her sleep on Dec. 30, 2022, at the Inglenook in Brighton, Colo.

Virginia, a 1941 graduate of Blair high school, is survived by her daughter and son-in-law; Sandra and Ron Benell of Thorton, Colo., sons and daughters in-law; Richard and Barbara Rowe of Thornton, Jerry and Barbara Wulf of Deer Trail, Colo., and son and partner; Timothy Wulf and Mikel Atwood of Limon, Colo. Also surviving her is grandson Kirk, granddaughters; Keri, Christina, Amy, and Kelly, great granddaughter Marina and great grandsons; Devin, Zachary and Exodus, and brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Kay Woodard of Blair, Ne.

Virginia R. (Woodard) Welch, 98, of Lakewood, CO died peacefully in her sleep on December 30, 2022 at the Inglenook at Brighton. She was born on August 25, 1924. Virginia Rose was the third child and second daughter of Howard and Helen (Nelson) Woodard.

Raised in Blair, NE (Class of 1941). She was a lifeguard at Cowels Lakes and worked as a supervisor at the Blair Brush Factory. Life's ups and downs would take her from Blair to North Platte, NE and finally to Lakewood, CO.

Over the years "Jenny" enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting. Later in life she would enjoy traveling and membership in the American Legion Aux.

Ms. Welch is preceded in death by husbands; Dwight Rowe, Raymond Wulf and Woodrow Welch and friend Melvin Pribble along with three sisters and two brothers.

Virginia is survived by her daughter and son-in-law; Sandra and Ronald Benell of Thornton, CO., sons and daughter-in-law; Richard and Barbara Rowe of Thornton, CO., Jerry and Barbara Wulf of Deer Trail, CO., and son and partner; Timothy Wulf and Mikel Atwood of Limon, CO. Also surviving her is grandson Kirk, granddaughters; Keri, Christina, Amy and Kelly, great granddaughter Marina and great grandsons; Devin, Zachary and Exodus., brother and sister-in-law, James and Kay Woodward of Blair, NE.
