Kay H. Kult, age 91 of Blair, passed away March 24, 2023, at her home in Blair.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday March 29, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church in Blair. Visitation will be held prior to services at the church beginning at 9 a.m.

Kay was born November 4, 1931, on the family farm in Guthrie County, Iowa, the daughter of Hayden and Hope Traux. She was raised on the farm in Guthrie County and attended and graduated from Bayard High School in 1949. After high school Kay attended St. Anthony’s school of nursing in Carroll, Iowa and graduated in 1952. On Jan. 14, 1953, she was united in marriage to William Kult. To this union seven children were born. Kay was a longtime Registered Nurse and retired after 36 years. During her career she worked in hospitals in Illinois and Iowa. After Kay and Bill’s retirements they spent 20 years enjoying their time at their lake house in the Ozarks. In 2015 Bill and Kay moved to Blair to be closer to their family.

Kay is survived by her children: Linda (Steve) Ryan of Blair, Michael Kult of Omaha, Patrick Kult (Fiancée Theresa Botos), Krista (Ken) Johnson of Diamondhead, MS, Sandy (Bart) Moore of Blair, Paul (Denise) Kult of Blair, and Gary (Diana) Kult of Waterloo; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews, along with her special cousins Jerry (Florence) Scott and Irene Scott. She was preceded in death by her parents, stepfather Joe Covault, husband William Kult, grandson Kelly Kult, uncle and aunt Carl and Mary Scott, special cousins Nadine Curl, Jack Scott and Jay Scott, brothers-in-law Bernard (Elaine) Kult and Gerald Kult.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to; Blair Memorial Community Hospital, Tangiers Shriners, St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church, or the charity of the donor’s choice in Kay’s name. Campbell Aman Funeral Home in Blair is in charge of the arrangements.
