Karen Louise Reid (Hall) was born October 19, 1943, in Cedar Rapids, IA to Theron and Wilma Hall. Karen attended Washington High School in Cedar Rapids. In May of 1962, Karen married Don Reid, who is also a Washington High School graduate and was her high school sweetheart. Over the years, Karen and Don moved throughout the Midwest, including Clarinda, IA, Monmouth, IL, Sedalia, MO, and Omaha, NE. In 1999, Karen and Don settled in Blair, Nebraska where they lived for 20 years. In 2021, they moved to Hillcrest Silver Ridge Assisted Living. Throughout the years, Karen worked various jobs but her primary role has always been wife, mother, and grandmother.

Karen and Don were married for 60 years and have two children, Pam Williams of Aurora, Ne, Jeff and wife Jennie Reid of Omaha, Ne. Karen and Don also have four grandchildren Blake and Brooke Williams, and Jacob and Jayla Reid. In addition to her husband, children and grandchildren, Karen is also survived by her sister Carol and husband Junior Sanders, nieces and nephews, and many friends.

Karen will be remembered for her wonderful sense of humor, desire to find joy in all situations, her adventurous approach to baking and cooking, and her love of tending to her plants and gardening. She is deeply loved and will be forever missed by her family and friends.

Visitation Tuesday 1:00 - 2:00 PM at Roeder Mortuary with Funeral Service 2:00 PM Tuesday (4/11/23) at Roeder Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family to be designated at a later date.
