Milo G. Kahnk, age 92, passed away April 19, 2023, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Community in Blair. Funeral services will be held Monday April 24, at Emmaus Lutheran Church in Kennard at 10:30 a.m. Graveside services will follow in the Kennard Cemetery. A visitation will be held Sunday April 23, with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at Campbell Aman Funeral Home.

Milo was born on Nov. 25, 1930, in rural Kennard. He was the son of Gustav and Amanda (Kuhr) Kahnk. He attended and graduated from Kennard High School in 1948. After graduation Milo joined the United States Air Force and was stationed at Lowry Air Force Base in Colorado where he served as an instructor in missile guidance systems. While he was in the Air Force he met Alice Glass and the couple were later married on June 7, 1953. After Milo’s honorable discharge from the military Milo and Alice moved to Nebraska. The couple started their family in the Kennard area, where Milo farmed and raised cattle. Over the years Milo enjoyed bowling and being in a card club for over 40 years with Alice and several friends. Milo especially enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, and passing down countless life lessons for the generations that will follow him.

Milo is survived by his wife of nearly 70 years, Alice, sons; George (Diane) of Tecumseh, Jim (Jodi) of Ankeny, Iowa, Pat (Brenda) of Blair, and Mike (JoAnne) of Kennard, grandchildren; Luke, Tim, Michael, Jesse, Aubrie, Kelsie, Jessica, Andrea, Brandon, Heather and Lyndsay, great-grandchildren; Nora, Rayner, Georgie, Quinn, Sloane, Zoie, Luna, Kai, Holden, Leo, Maddie, Millie, Jonah, Simon, Caleb, Jax, Alice, Milo, Crusoe, William and Lauryn, and his brother Don Kahnk, along with extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Mardelle Andersen and brother Rollie Kahnk.

Memorials may be directed to Good Shepherd Lutheran Community or Emmaus Lutheran Church in Kennard.
