Eldon R. Babbitt, 69, died Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2011, at his home in Blair.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 7, at Country Bible Church in Blair. Interment will be in the Blair Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Sunday at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home with family receiving friends from 5 to 7 p.m.

Eldon Rex Babbitt was born July 3, 1942, in Nebraska City to James and Violet (Grabbe) Babbitt. He moved to Decatur with his parents and attended Mt. Pleasant, and Elm Creek Schools and graduated from Lyons High School in 1959.

He served in the United States Air Force.

He married Elizabeth Rogers in Shreveport, La. They moved to Blair in 1976. Mr. Babbitt was a member of the Country Bible Church.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Rex and Sarah; two grandchildren, Felicity and Cameron; brothers, Ellis of Blair, and Kenneth of Houston, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Elizabeth, in 2003; and a brother, David.
