Mr. Johnny Hogan, of Burt county, had a very severe accident happen to one of his family. It was about this way: He and his herdsman were burning stalks on Friday of last week, and his little three-year-old boy was with them and after they got the stalks burned, the child started to go to the house by itself, which was some 40 yards away. It is thought that the child stopped on its way to the stalk field and started up some fire, from which its clothes, which were light goods, caught, and the child ran almost to the house before it fell down. It was overtaken by its father and the rest of the family. The clothes were all burned off the child when rescued. It lived about three hours. The remains were interred in the cemetery by Herman. The family have the sympathy of this community in this time of bereavement.
