Stanley "John" Bednar, Jr.

August 4, 1941 — July 6, 2023

John passed away at home on Thursday July 6th, 2023, due to complications from COVID 19 and cancer.

John and his twin sister Jean were born August 4th, 1941, in Omaha, NE. John was raised in Blair NE where he graduated from Blair High School. He graduated from the University of NE in 1964.

He enlisted in the Air Force in 1964 as a 2nd Lt. and was honorably discharged as a Captain in 1969.

After returning to the United States, he began his career in banking at The Bank of Millard and worked in the banking industry in Omaha until December 2018.

John married Dixie in March 2006. They enjoyed traveling, golf, wine tasting, friends, family time and Grandkids.

John was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors are his wife, Dixie; son, Bob and wife Teresa; and daughter Lori Greene. Dixie's children Corrie Kielty, Mendi Westerlin, and Joe Westerlin and his wife Libby Dibiase. Sisters Kay Spidle & Jean Coen. Grandchildren Collin, Andrew, Brody, Nate, Casey, Nic, CJ, Dillon, Alli, Cruz and Rome. Great-grands Jadyn, Noah, Jace, Layla, Annabelle, Rilynn, Levee and August.

John was a good man, father, and Papa. He will be so missed.

A private family service is planned.
