Arne was born September 24, 1940 in Staten Island, NY. He grew up in Omaha, NE where he met and married his wife of nearly 60 years, Patty.

Many people knew Arne from his long tenure in law enforcement. Arne enjoyed fishing, playing cards, weight lifting, and watching boxing.

During his stay at Good Shephard he was a friend to many residents and staff. Arne enjoyed playing cards, bingo, and Wii bowling with his friends.

Arne Robert Svenningsen, age 82 of Blair, passed away June 16th, 2023 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Community in Blair, Nebraska.

Arne is survived by his wife, Patty; daughter Rita (Mitch) Sorensen, Todd Svenningsen, Arne Jr Svenningsen, Andria (Mark) Wilwerding, Chris (Melissa) Svenningsen; 20 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters Elsa Svenningsen, Nancy (Charles) Brooks, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer Svenningsen and Rita Burgess; step father Ray; brother Larry and sisters Linda, Mary, and Phyllis.

Memorials may be directed to the family or Good Shepherd Lutheran Community.

Visitation Services will be held Saturday, June 24th, 2023, from 1 to 3 p.m. at Hillside Christian Church, 1133 N 28th Ave, Blair. Private graveside services will be held in the Blair Cemetery.
