Chas. Hineline Falls Dead

Pioneer Resident of DeSoto dies on Downtown Blair Corner

Charles O. Hineline, 77, DeSoto pioneer and farmer, died suddenly Friday morning, July 22, while at the H. J. Cooke Store corner, Walker Ave. and Washington St. He had been in poor health since suffering a stroke in September of 1945.

Mr. Hineline was born on a farm near DeSoto on June 20, 1872, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Solomon Hineline; lived his entire life on that farm. He was married to Effie May Lusk at Logan, Ia., March 28, 1909.

Survivors include the widow, Effie May; two sons, William and Virgil, both of DeSoto; a brother, Solomon Hineline of DeSoto; and a sister, Mrs. Ollie Fancher, Oregon City, Ore.

Funeral services were held in the First Lutheran Church Sunday, July 24, with the Rev. H.C. Jorgensen officiating. Burial was in Blair Cemetery. The Campbell Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.

CHARLES G. HINELINE RITES SUNDAY

Charles O. Hineline, a resident of DeSoto died very suddenly last Friday, July 22rd, on the streets of Blair. He had been in failing health since suffering from a stroke in September of 1945.

Deceased was born in DeSoto on June 20, 1872, the son of the pioneer Soloman Hineline. He lived his entire life on the farm where he was born.

He was married on March 28, 1909 at Logan, Iowa to Effie May Lusk, and to them two sons were born, William and Virgil, both living in DeSoto.

Mr. Hineline is survived by his wife and two sons, and by two granddaughters, Judy and Linda Hineline, by one brother, Solomon Hineline of DeSoto; one sister, Mrs. Ollie Fancher of Oregon City, Oregon and by a number of nephews and nieces in this community.

The funeral rites were held Sunday in the First Lutheran church on Sunday, July 24, with Rev. H. C. Jorgensen officiating, and interment was made in the Blair cemetery with the Campbell Mortuary in charge.
