Betty June Scheer of Arlington, Nebraska went to her eternal home Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at UNMC in Omaha with her family by her side at the age of 80.

Betty was born April 1, 1943, in Fremont, Nebraska to Charles and Agnus McGahey. She graduated from Fremont High School in 1961.

She married Dalvin O Scheer on May 6, 1962, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fremont. Betty and Dalvin farmed side by side for 61 years. Betty fed the working crew daily, greeted all the hunters, and managed the books for the pheasant farm and lodge with Dalvin.

Betty channeled her creativity into her quilts, sewing, paintings, and unique clothing line, selling them at the lodge and at the craft show. Betty loved tending her flowers and garden, often canning what she grew and sharing it with others. She loved cheering on her kids and grandkids in their sporting events and the Cornhusker volleyball team, taking trips, going out to eat, and visiting wineries and vineyards with Dalvin.

She was an active member at St Paul's Lutheran Church and served on many committees. But most of all she loved spending time with her family and her close friends "the girls".

She is survived by her husband, Dalvin, brother Jim of Tacoma WA, son Todd (Lee Ann) of Raleigh, NC, son Bruce (Brandi) of Arlington, and 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Jean (Harold), brothers Bob, Dick (Jane), niece Teresa and son Greg.

The funeral will be 10:30 am Monday September 18, 2023 at St Paul's Lutheran Church, Arlington NE. Visitation will be Monday one hour before the service at church with graveside service and lunch following.

There will be a public visitation on Sunday evening the 17, 2023 from 4 to 7 pm at Little Creek Barn, 21281 Country Road 20, Arlington, NE 68002.

Memorials will be directed to Stroke Research, Arlington Athletics, St Paul's and family choice.

Family thanks you in advance for your thoughts and prayers.
