Linda Kay LeBrun, age 74 of Flandreau passed away Thursday, September 28, 2023 at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Linda was born on April 25, 1949 in Flandreau, SD to Warren and Anna Mae (Bowen) Kern. She grew up on their family farm near Lone Tree. Linda attended Gale Ridge Country School and graduated from Egan High School in 1967. She continued on to get her Nursing degree at South Dakota State University. During her years of service as a Registered Nurse she worked in public health, as a school nurse, and at the Avera Dell Rapids Clinic for over 30 years. On July 8, 1972 Linda was united in marriage to Robert LeBrun in Colman, SD. They made their home and farmed south of Flandreau with their four children. Linda was a creative and artistic person who enjoyed crafting, painting, sewing, and quilting. She also enjoyed being outside on their farm and working in her flower beds. Linda and Bob loved staying at local campgrounds in their camper with their beloved friends. Above all, she treasured time with her grandchildren and family.

Linda is survived by her husband Robert LeBrun, four children: Faith (Phil) Jennings, Chicago, IL; Ben (Brenna) LeBrun, Flandreau, SD; Jamie (Jim) Hitchcock, Madelia, MN; Joe (Katie) LeBrun, Dell Rapids, SD; 11 grandchildren: Graham, Cole, Cade, Brant, Bryson, Tenley, Blake, Hadley, Ivy, Amelia, Ellis; two sisters: twin sister, Dianna Wittenhagen, and Susan (Ray) Brende, both of Wentworth, SD. Linda was preceded in death by her parents: Warren and Anna Mae Kern.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM, Tuesday, October 3, 2023, at Ss. Simon and Jude Catholic Church, Flandreau, SD with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, October 2, from 5:00 - 7:00 PM with a 7:00 PM Scripture Service at Skroch Funeral Chapel, Flandreau, SD.

Memorials will be directed to the South Dakota Right to Life, South Dakota Parkinson’s Foundation, and the Colman-Egan Athletic Department.
