Beverly Jean (Brickey) Corbin

Memorial services for Beverly Corbin will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 21, 2023, at First Baptist Church in Tekamah. A visitation will start at 10 a.m. at the church. She passed away Oct. 3, 2023, at the age of 91.

Beverly (Bev) was born to David Gerald and Myrtle Alberta (Everett) Brickey, Jan 2, 1932, in Mound City, Missouri. Bev grew up in the Mound City area and attended Mound City Schools.

On June 24,1949, she was married to Charles Danley Corbin of Skidmore, Missouri and to this union five daughters were born. The family resided in Missouri until 1957 when they moved to Blair. They resided in Nebraska in the Burt and Washington county areas until 1988 and then moved to Fulton, Missouri. In 2011 they moved back to Tekamah and she stayed with family to assist her until the death of her beloved husband of 62 years. She continued to live in Tekamah in her own apartment until her death.

Bev worked at several different jobs until 1984 when she took a job as a school bus driver for the Tekamah-Herman Schools until 1988 when she became a bus driver for Fulton School District in Fulton for 15 years and retired in 2008.

She and Chuck loved to square dance and shared that love with many and made many dear friends. She also loved to watch sports and she tried hard not to miss any Missouri Tiger football or basketball games. Bev and Chuck also coached a softball team, Charlies Angels, and she loved to travel with family to watch her children and grandchildren play sports.

Bev was a member of First Baptist Church in Tekamah. She had a strong faith and she never hesitated to share her love for Jesus with many. She was a member of the Chatt Center in Tekamah, helping in many different areas. She took what she called her last job answering the phone and making reservations for lunch at the Chatt Center and made many dear friends there.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Charles, daughters, Danna Pickell and Debra Buck; four brothers, Nelson, Orval, Melvin and Earl; five sisters, Elladee, Verlene, Mildred, Geraldine and Helen; a granddaughter, Patricia (Pickell) Metzger; two grandsons, William (Willie) and Stephen Wentz; and a great-grandson, Connor Swaim.

She is survived by three daughters, Sherry (Charles) Wentz of Fulton, Jane (Robert) Paul of Tekamah and Christine (Robert) Greene of Blair; 16 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren.
