MRS. A. T. ALLEN

After long years of poor health, Mrs. Andy Allen was called to her last rest on Tuesday, Sept. 26, 1933 at the age of 74 years, 3 months and 19 days.

Mary E. Lamb was born in Breckenridge Co., Kentucky June 7, 1859, and with her family came to Washington county when she was ten years of age where she grew to womanhood.

She was married to A. T. Allen Feb. 21, 1878, and they went immediately to farming on a farm northwest of Blair near Rose Hill. Here the family was reared and for twenty nine years they continued their farming activities, and then moved to Blair where they have resided for the past twenty six years. During their residence in Blair many warm friendships have been formed.

Mrs. Allen was a consistent member of the Methodist church, and took an active interest in all the church movements and her place at worship was never vacant except when sickness compelled.

She leaves her husband and three sons, C. R. of Omaha and R. C. and A. C. of Blair. One daughter died 24 years ago, leaving a baby girl to the care of the grandmother who was a mother to her. She is Mrs. Leora Reeh of Blair.

She also leaves three brothers, Henry and Will Lamb of Fremont and Chas. Lamb of Carter, Okla. and two sisters, Mrs. Jas. Ryan of Blair and Mrs. W. T. Meadow of Fremont.

There are a large number of other close relatives who join in sorrowing for this much loved one who has gone before them.

Funeral services are to be held this Thursday afternoon at 2 o’clock from the Methodist church with Rev. W. H. Jackson officiating, and interment will be made in the Blair cemetery.

Resident of County since 1869 dies at her home at age of 74.

Mrs. A.T. Allen, 74, resident of Blair and Washington county since 1869, died at the family home on west Colfax street Tuesday.

A native of Breckinridge county, Kentucky, Mrs. Allen, as Mary E. Lamb, was born June 7, 1859. At the age of ten, she moved with her family to Washington county, where she grew to womanhood. She was married to A.T. Allen February 21, 1878, and the home was established on a farm northwest of Blair near Rose Hill. After about 29 years the home was brought to Blair. Mrs. Allen since moving to Blair, had been active in Methodist church activities here.

Surviving are her bereaved husband and three sons, C.R. of Omaha, and R.G. and A.C. of Blair. One daughter died 24 years ago, leaving a baby girl to the care of the grandmother, who raised the little girl to womanhood. She is now Mrs. Leora Reeh of Blair.

She also leaves three brothers, Henry and Will Lamb of Fremont, and Charles Lamb of Carter, Oklahoma, and two sisters, Mrs. Ryran of Blair and Mrs. W.T. Meador of Fremont.

Funeral services are being conducted this (Thursday) afternoon at two o'clock at the Blair Methodist church, with the pastor in charge. Burial will be in the Blair cemetery.
