Raymon Jensen passed away peacefully in the early morning of January 15, 2024. Raymon was born April 1, 1935 in Blair to Madolin (Richter) and James Jensen, and grew up on his parent’s farm south of Blair. Raymon was the fourth of five children.

Raymon was a graduate of Blair High School and Dana College (Mathematics and Business) and served in the US Army for two years at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. Raymon retired after more than 29 years of service from the USDA as the Executive Director of the Washington County ASCS office. Following his retirement, he continued to serve the people of Blair through a part time job for many years in maintenance and janitorial duties at First Lutheran Church.

Raymon was married to Janice Welton of Blair in December 1965. They had two daughters, Ellen (Jim) Wells and Jean (Allen) Berck, both of Omaha. In addition to being a dedicated and loving family man, Raymon loved farming and the agriculture lands of Washington county; he enjoyed discussing crops, farming methods, and native grasses. Being born on April Fools’ Day, Raymon was always quick with a joke and loved to make his family and friends laugh.

Raymon is survived by his wife, Janice, of 58 years; daughters and their husbands; two sisters: Phyllis Bellows of Omaha, and Kathy (Jeff) Vinton of Cary, North Carolina; sister-in-law Sandra Jensen of Littleton, Colorado; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers James and Richard.

No public services will be held at this time.
