Miss Hattie Parks, sister of Mrs. Isaac Thompson of this city died at the Jenner hospital, Chicago, Monday, Dec. 6. Only recently she went to that city to accept a position as typewriter in an office of the Press Association. Unbeknown to her folks she underwent a very delicate surgical operation on Wednesday, Dec. 1st, and seemed to be recovering.

Miss Hattie came with her folks to Blair in 1874. In 1885 she took a case on the Blair Republican, where she worked for three years. In the meantime her folks had removed to Wisner, and in 1888 she joined them.

In 1891 she entered the Omaha Business College, and completed a courses in Stenography and Typewriting and was, early after her graduation, tendered a responsible position in the office of the American Press Association, where she remained until last April.

Miss Parks had many warm friends here who learn with regret that her summons came so soon.
