Preceded by parents, Arthur and Gladys Prouty; brothers-in-law, Frank Holmstedt, Bill Matherly, Pat Holmstedt, Mike Holmstedt. Survived by wife, Carol Prouty; daughters, Jami Perry (Jim), Juli Pinegar (Steve); grandchildren, Jaden, Vaida, Pearl; brother, John Prouty; sisters-in- law, Judy Miller (Jim), Mary Rempe (Gail), Robbie Matherly, Josephine Holmstedt, Vicki Holmstedt, Tara Holmstedt; brother-in-law, Jim Holmstedt (Marnie); many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

VISITATION: 1 to 2 p.m., Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at Forest Lawn. MEMORIAL SERVICE: 2 p.m., Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at Forest Lawn. Memorials may be directed to the family for future designation.

In Loving Memory of James J. Prouty

March 15, 1946 ~ January 13, 2024

Jim was born and raised in Omaha He graduated from Benson High School in 1964.

In 1966 he joined the Army and was a member of the 101st Airborne.

In 1969, he married Carol Holmstedt, and they both attended Dana College where Jim graduated in 1972.

After graduation, he went to work with his father and brother John at their family business Wessco Graphics, which Jim and John owned and ran until 2015.

In 1976 Jim and Carol's first daughter Jami was born, and then in 1981 their second daughter Juli was born. Jim and family lived on a small acreage in Crescent, Iowa.

Throughout the years Jim was a member of many philanthropic organizations. He was a long time member of Cosmopolitan International where he would to on to become the International President in 1996. Jim was also involved in the Omaha Business Men's Association.

Jim and his family did lots of traveling throughout the years with the organization Friendship Force. He traveled to South America, Africa, Asia, Israel, new Zealand, and Korea.

Summers were also spent on family road trips all over the US and Canada.

Later in life Jim loved to dance--he was not shy about getting out on the dance floor. He spent several days a week attending exercise classes with his brother at the Kroc Center in South Omaha.

Jim also loved spending time with his grandkids Jaden, Vaida and Pearl.

James J. Prouty passed away January 13, 2024
