Board member, Saunders County Care Center, Bishop Neumann Central High School, John F. Kennedy College, Wahoo; board of trustees, Neumann Endowment Fund; co-chairman, Diocesean Development Program; trustee, St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church. Member: Lions Club; Hilltop Country Club; FOE Aerie 2971; Knights of Columbus Wahoo Council 1833; American Legion Post 82; VFW Post 4502. Survivors: wife, Helen; son, Joe, Omaha; daughters, sons-in-law, Patti and Loren Coppock, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Mary and Jim Kolar, Sharon and Rob Sherwood, Linda Breunig, all Lincoln, Joan and John Price, Columbus; brothers, sisters-in-law, Jerome and Joyce, Richard and Norma, Eugene and Berneta, all Wahoo; six grandchildren. Preceded in death by parents, Charles W. and Marie (McMahon); sister, Margaret Lapour.

Mass of Christian Burial: 10:30 a.m. Friday, St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Wahoo. The Rev. Lawrence Gyhra. St. Francis Cemetery, Wahoo. Military rites by American Legion Post 82, VFW Post 4502. Scripture service: 7 p.m. Thursday, church, followed by Knights of Columbus Rosary. Visitation: Thursday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Svoboda Funeral Home, Wahoo; one hour before Scripture service, church; Friday, one hour before services, church. Memorials to the church, St. Wenceslaus Elementary School or Bishop Neumann Central High School.
