RASMUSSEN RITES HELD

RETIRED COUNTY FARMER DIES SUDDENLY FRIDAY; BURIED SUNDAY

Funeral services for Louis J. Rasmussen, 58, of 203 South First Street, who died of a heart attack early Friday morning, were held Sunday at First Methodist Church in Blair, the Rev. Homer Dickerson officiating.

Mr. Rasmussen is survived by his wife, Grace; three sons, Laurets and John Rasmussen of Blair and Ross Rasmussen of Hooper; one daughter, Mrs. Lyle Stock, Murdock, Nebr., and 11 grandchildren.

Three sisters, Sofia Pedersen, Anna Svendsen and Ellen Hendricksen; and one brother, Julius Rasmussen of Denmark.

Mr. Rasmussen was born in Denmark and came to the United States in 1911. For 20 years he farmed in Washington County, retiring and moving to Blair four years ago. In 1948 Mr. and Mrs. Rasmussen returned to Europe with the WOW farm tour, and this fall went to Mexico on another tour.

The Bendorf Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.

Serving as pallbearers were Walter Nielsen, Lloyd Mathiesen, Merton Winchell, Harold Taylor, Henry Voss and Fred Flake.
