HENRY JENSEN RITES TUESDAY

Henry Jensen, of Kennard, passed away Sunday morning, June 11th at his home in Kennard. He had been in failing health for some time and suffered from a stroke which culminated in his death.

He was born in Germany on June 30, 1869, so was nearly 81 years of age. When about four years old the family came to America and for a time lived in Omaha. He married Johanna Hansen and to them eight children were born, five sons and three daughters, who with the wife, survive to mourn his parting.

Of the eight children, six are living in this county. William lives at Alma, Nebraska, and Leslie in Portland, Oregon.

In his earlier days he farmed west of Kennard and he was a successful farmer but his age and health caused him to retire and he made his home in Kennard.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday from the Lutheran church in Kennard with Rev. Thorslev officiating and interment, under the supervision of the Campbell Mortuary, was made in the Kennard Cemetery.
