Saturday Rites For Centenarian
Funeral services for Mrs. Sophia Andersen, east of Uehling, will be
held Saturday at 1:30 p.m., at the Wollmer & Warne Funeral Home,
and at 2 p.m., at the Elim Lutheran Church with Rev. E. T.
Chindvall in charge. Burial will be in West Admah Cemetery.
Mrs. Andersen was born in Denmark January 6, 1857, and came to
America at the age of 19. She was baptized and confirmed in the
Danish Lutheran Church in Denmark. She was married to P. J.
Anderson in 1883 and they lived on a farm in Burt County. She
joined the Elim Church in 1932. Mr. Anderson died in 1934. Since
that time she has made her home with her daughter, Mr. and Mrs.
Herman Jacobsen, where she died.
Survivors are four daughters; Mrs. Louis Peterson, Mrs. Dena
McBroom, Mrs. Emma Lueninghoener and Mrs. Annie Jacobsen; one son,
Alfred Andersen; 14 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren and two
great-great grandchildren.
The body will lie in state from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday evening at the
Wollmer & Warne Funeral Home.
Note: Her son Hans Theodore Andersen (1883-1885) is buried at
St. Johannes, Argo, Cemetery.
