MARY HANSEN, HERMAN, DIES

WIDOW OF CHRIS HANSEN, KENNARD AND HERMAN FARMER, IS BURIED

Mrs. Mary K. Hansen, 83, widow of Chris M. Hansen, who once farmed in the Kennard and Herman vicinities, died Friday at the home of her son, George Hansen, where she had resided eight months.

Funeral services were held at 2pm Sunday at the Baptist church in Herman. Dr. N.C. Carlsen of Blair officiated and burial followed in the Herman cemetery.

Mary K. Iverson, daughter of Iver and Christiana Iversen, was born in Magleby, Denmark, Oct. 13, 1863, where she was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She came to America in 1885 and was married at Blair Feb. 2, 1887 to Mr. Hansen. They lived for two years on a farm near Kennard, then moved to the Herman vicinity. The moved into Herman in 1919, and Mr. Hansen died Feb. 26, 1937.

For several years Mrs. Hansen had made her home with her children.

Surviving the aged Herman woman are three sons, Viggo and Harold Hansen, both of Fremont, and George Hansen of Herman and three daughters, Mrs. Mary Hansen and Mrs. Christiana McDougall, both of Omaha, and Mrs. Alice Morrison of Lyons. Other survivors include two brothers, Jens P. Iversen of Blair and Nels P. Iversen of Vona, Colorado; 26 grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
