Mr. Johnston was married about a year ago to Mrs. Sadie Bigelow, of this city, who is quite well known and whose children still reside here. Deceased had been failing in health for two years past, but the direct cause of death was an attack of typhoid fever. Besides his wife, he leaves two children, a girl aged 13, and a boy aged 11, who live with their grandparents at Neligh, Neb. Funeral was held at Lusk Congregational Church and buried at Neligh, his former home. Blair friends will deeply sympathize with the bereaved widow.

DEATH OF ALVAH B. JOHNSTON

Alvah Bertram Johnston, aged 38 years, died at his home east of Lusk at 3:30 on Tuesday afternoon, July 23rd. For the past two years his health had been declining, and a few days before his death he had been brought to bed by an attack of typhoid fever. Everything possible in the way of medical help and careful nursing was done for him, but his constitution was too weak to resist the disease.

The funeral service was held in the Lusk Congregational church yesterday at 1 o’clock, Rev. S. Burman Long officiating. The body was taken east on the afternoon train for interment at Neligh, Nebraska.

Deceased was born January 29, 1874 at Morning Sun, Iowa. He came to Wyoming four years ago from Neligh, Nebraska. At that time he was a widower with two children, Lela, a girl now aged 13, and Harvey, aged 11. The children remained at Neligh with their grandparents. About a year ago he married Mrs. Sadie Bigelow in this city. His father and mother and both his children were here from Neligh to attend the funeral as was also, his brother-in-law, Guy Browning, of Ewing, Nebraska—Lusk, (Wyoming) Standard.

Mrs. Johnston will be remembered by people in this vicinity as Mrs. F. S. Bigelow, formerly of this city. Her two children, Mrs. Ed Wolff and Jesse Bigelow went to Lusk last week on receipt of a telegram telling of Mr. Johnston’s death. Mrs. Wolff has returned after attending the funeral, but Jesse will remain for some time with his mother on the farm left by Mr. Johnston.
