Barbara Joann Fitchhorn, age 91 of Blair, passed away March 24, 2025, at Country House in Elkhorn, Nebraska. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 28, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at First Lutheran Church in Blair. Graveside services will follow in the Blair Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, March 27, 2025, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Campbell Aman Funeral Home in Blair.
Barbara was born in Missouri Valley, Iowa, on March 8, 1934, the daughter of Harold and Ethel Myler. She was raised in Missouri Valley and graduated from Missouri Valley High School.
On March 8, 1952, she was united in marriage to Glen Fitchhorn in Logan, Iowa. Barbara worked at Western Electric in Omaha for 33 years before her retirement. Barbara loved camping, fishing with her family and growing flowers. She will always be remembered as a giver, and nothing made her happier than the smiles on her grandchildren's faces. Family was everything to Barbara.
Barbara is survived by her children; sons Richard (LouAnn) Fitchhorn and Michael (Kelly) Fitchhorn; grandchildren Tracy Stanley, Kim Lawless, Rick (Janice) Fitchhorn Jr., Nichole Lawless, Kayla Engelhaupt, Nicholas Berg and Anna Hawthorne; seven great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; sister Connie (Jack) Richie; brother Dwight (Mary Ann) Myler; along with several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Glen Fitchhorn, daughter Debra Braun, sister Shirley Cox, brother Donnie Myler and sister Georgia Mae Myler.
Memorials in Barbara's name may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association.
