Donna Lee Petersen, age 88, of Blair, Nebraska, entered the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on April 12, 2025. Funeral services will be held Friday April 18, 2025, at First United Methodist Church in Blair at 11 a.m. Visitation will be held Thursday, April 17, 2025, beginning at 6 p.m. at Campbell Aman Funeral Home in Blair. A Prayer service will follow the visitation at 8 p.m.
Donna Lee was born July 28, 1936, in Fremont, Nebraska, the daughter of Walter and Dorothy Plugge. She graduated from Arlington High School and attended college at Wayne Teachers College where she received her teaching certificate. She then taught at country schools until her marriage to Lloyd Petersen on May 18, 1955. The couple were blessed with two children, Dwight in 1956 and Jacque in 1960.
Over the years Donna Lee was active in her local churches, including serving as a Sunday school teacher and chapel leader, a leader in the Christian Women’s Fellowship, an adult bible study leader, and worked at Blair High School with the children with special needs. She was always active with any school activities that any of her children were involved with.
She is survived by her husband, Lloyd Petersen; son Dwight (Bonnie) Petersen and daughter Jacque (Scott) Anderson; grandchildren Todd (Jennifer) Petersen, Garrett (Kayla)Petersen, Greg Petersen, Jenna Lee Anderson, Taylor (Jillian) Anderson; great grandchildren HaiLee (Kyle), Daphne, Aida, Grant, Wesley and Amelia. Sisters Anita (Red) Misfeldt and Dorothy Gaeth, and nieces, nephews, extended family and countless friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Walter Plugge, and brother-in-law Larry Gaeth.
Memorials may be directed to the Blair Congregational Church or the Blair Volunteer Fire and Rescue Squad.
