Word was received here last Thursday of the serious illness of Earl Stanley McManigal in a hospital in Mason City, Iowa, where he was taken down with pneumonia while playing in the Hickman Stock Company. He died Sunday morning and the body was brought here Monday and taken to the home of A. P. Compton where the funeral was held yesterday at 2 o'clock, Rev. J. W. Lewis officiating.

He was the only living son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank McManigal and was born in this city March 9, 1888. He went to Shawnee, Oklahoma, when a young man and had never been in Blair but twice since that time, at Christmas time two years ago and last June. His parents returned from Shawnee about a year ago and are now living at this city. Shortly after they moved to Oklahoma they lost two children within two weeks of each other and now their last child is gone.

Besides the grief stricken parents, he leaves his grandparents on his mother’s side, Mr. And Mrs. John Compton Sr., besides other relatives and a host of friends here and elsewhere.

The remains of Earl McManigal, twenty-six years old, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank McManigal of Blair, were buried in the Blair cemetery Tuesday. The deceased was a leading man with a theatrical company, and was stricken with pneumonia in Mason City, Iowa, early last week, death ensuing Saturday.
