Janet Beedle (Jividen)"Jan" —Age 86 —Tekamah, NE
Janet Kaye Beedle, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and pillar of the Tekamah community, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 28th, 2025, at her home in Tekamah, Nebraska.
Janet was born on August 18th, 1938, in Onawa, Iowa, to Leo and DeeDee (Richardson) Jividen. She grew up in Onawa, where she graduated from Onawa High School. On November 25th, 1956, she married her lifelong partner, Ronnie Beedle, and together they raised five wonderful children: Tobi, Jodi, Tim, Jacque, and Jamie.
Janet's heart was as big as her Nebraska Husker pride. She spent many joyful years as a para-professional with Omaha Public Schools and Tekamah-Herman Community Schools, nurturing young minds with patience and kindness. Whether cheering on Husker games or attending her grandchildren's sporting events and activities, Janet was always there, her enthusiasm contagious and her love unmistakable.
A true community champion, Janet dedicated much of her time volunteering at the Chatt Center in Tekamah, where her warmth and kindness touched countless lives. She was also an active member of PassageWay Church of Blair, where her faith and fellowship brought comfort and joy.
Janet's legacy lives on through her children: Tobi (Cathy) Beedle of Lincoln, NE; Jodi (Mike) Bank of Tekamah; Tim (Kim) Beedle of Denver, CO; Jacque (Dave) Points of Omaha; and Jamie (Brandon) Vakiner of Iowa City, IA. She was a proud grandmother to Molly (Chip), Audrey, Rikki, Michelle (Ron), Nick (Kellie), Stacey (Josh), Adrienne, Zach (Sharon), Karli (Ben), Amanda (Nathan), Kaycee (Stephen), Kenny (Kylie), Kylie, Ella, and Ava, and a loving great-grandmother to Devon, Tristan, Mason, Ahri, Logan, Charlee, Riyan, Reaghan, Rylee, Mason, Milo, Parker, Jack, Lydia, Lyla, Wyatt, and Emmy.
Janet was preceded in death by her husband Ronnie, her parents Leo and DeeDee, her siblings Mike Jividen and Judy (Jividen) Coppi, and brothers- and sisters-in-law Gary and Shirley Beedle, and Janet and Ronnie Heck.
Janet had a special way of expressing her love that brought smiles to many faces. As she often wrote in her cards, "Love you little, love you big, love you like a little fat pig!" — words that perfectly capture her playful and affectionate spirit.
The family invites friends and community members to celebrate Janet's life at a celebration of life service at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, July 3, 2025, at the Chatt Center in Tekamah, officiated by Janet's grandson Dr. Nick Bank, with Pastor Curtis Isaacson providing music.
Private family graveside services will be held at Onawa Cemetery in Onawa, Iowa. Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 2, 2025, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Pelan Funeral Home.
Janet's kindness, laughter, and unwavering support made her a beloved friend and neighbor to many. Her memory will continue to inspire all who knew her to live with generosity and joy.
