Eva Elizabeth Scott, 69
Eva Elizabeth Scott was born on November 16, 1955, in Los Angeles, California. On June 13, 2025, she went to be with Jesus, surrounded by the love of her family and the legacy of a life well-lived.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, June 21, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Hillside Church in Blair. Graveside services will follow in the Blair Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday, June 20, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Campbell Aman Funeral Home in Blair.
Eva was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She married the love of her life, Clinton Scott, on September 5, 1981. In 1981, she bravely moved to Blair, Nebraska during a blizzard, and made it her home, where she raised her children and built a life rooted in faith, family and service.
A faithful member of the First Christian Church, Eva served as a Sunday School teacher and was actively involved in the Bible Buddies program. Her love for God was evident in the way she lived, always generous, kind and uplifting. She not only brought her own children to church, but also her nieces and nephews, ensuring that all felt welcomed and loved in God’s house.
Eva worked for many years as a lunch lady at the local school, where she was known for her warm smile and welcoming spirit. She often gave from her own pocket to make sure every child had a meal. Her compassion extended beyond the cafeteria, her home was a safe haven for many. Her daughters’ friends fondly remember her house as their second home and lovingly referred to her as their “second mom.”
In addition to her work at the school, Eva also worked in the kitchen at the local hospital. There, too, she was known for her generosity and care. She would often pay out of her own pocket to ensure that nurses had meals during their long shifts. She poured extra love and attention into preparing meals for patients, especially when she knew them personally, believing that food could be a form of comfort and healing. Her kindness nourished hearts.
She had a creative soul and loved sewing, ceramics and crafting. She shared these gifts generously, especially during her years as a Girl Scout leader for both her daughter and granddaughter. Eva had a unique ability to see the best in people and used her words to encourage and uplift. She was honest, yet always kind, everyone’s friend and confidante.
Eva is survived by her devoted husband, Clinton Scott; her loving father, Ricardo Polanco; her daughters, Jennifer (Jason) and Mona (Ramsey); her grandchildren, Jason Jr. (Tehya), Jasmin (Jacob), Justin (Kaitlyn), Joseph, Ella, and Nora; and her great-grandchildren, Jason III, Jasper, Athena, and Damon. She is also survived by her siblings: Carlos (Aurora), Mona (Winston), Jesse (Marie), Lava (Victor), and Sally; her sister-in-law, Gisele; her in-laws; Mary Scott, Mike (Debbie), Connie, Brenda (Johnny) and many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Jauna Esther Teresa Carrillo, her brother, Basilo Guatimea, mother-in-law and father-in-law Berniece and Lawrence Scott, and brother-in-law Rick Scott.
Eva’s life was a living testimony of God’s love, generous, faithful, and full of grace. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who were blessed to know her.
