Funeral services for former Omaha Public Power District director Paul S. Kruger, 80. will be Saturday at 2[, at the Fort Calhoun Presbyterian Church.
Kruger, who resided at the Skyline Villa retirement home, died Wednesday night at Immanuel Hospital of cancer and pneumonia, said his son, Bob Kruger, president of the Ames Bank.
The elder Kruger had been a cattle farmer for 60 years in the Fort Calhoun community.
He was appointed to the OPPD board in 1955.
He had also been president of the Nebraska Livestock Feeders Association and the Fort Calhoun school board and served on the Nebraska Resources Commission and the Nebraska-Iowa Boundary Commission.
Active in Republican Party politics, he managed campaigns for Senators Hugh Butler and Carl Curtis. He ran unsuccessfully for Congress in 1956.
His wife, Berniece, died in 1969.
Surviving beside Bob is another son, Paul of Fort Calhoun, and daughters Alice of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Dorothy Anderson of Laramie, Wyoming.
