Kenneth J. Steffensmeier, 77 yrs of Arlington, NE, passed away August 16, 2025, at Good Samaritan in Millard, NE.

He was born February 26, 1948, in West Point, NE, to John and Eleanor (Pojar) Steffensmeier. He graduated from Scribner High School in 1966. After graduation Kenneth received his associate degree at Milford College. Kenneth served in the US Army and was a Purple Heart recipient.

Kenneth married Sandra Trine on June 23, 1973, in Hooper. They later divorced. He resided in Hooper from 1973 until 2000 before moving to Arlington. He worked as a farmer for Milligan Farms in Hooper for 26 years. Kenneth also worked for Storm Drywall in Yutan.

Kenneth was a member of the American Legion in Hooper and was a past Adjutant. He was a member of the VFW in Arlington. He enjoyed woodworking and creating metal yard art. Fishing and hunting were two of his hobbies.

Kenneth is survived by his son, Brian (Kendra) Steffensmeier of Fremont; daughter, Stacey (Brian) Hussey of Papillion, NE; brothers, Dennis (Janet) of Wisconsin and Paul (Pam) Steffensmeier of South Carolina; 3 grandchildren, Jacob Hussey and Capri and Tyson Barker; great grandchild, Miller Barker.

The funeral will be 10:30 AM, Friday, August 22, 2025, at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. The visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, Thursday at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont.

Private family burial with military honors will be at Omaha National Cemetery.
