Steven Neil Sonderup, 74, of Blair, passed away unexpectedly August 8, 2025, at the VA Hospital. Steven was born on July 30, 1951, to Delmar and Kay (Lintz) Sonderup, in Blair.

Steven served in the U.S. Army from 1971-1973, completing his training in the U.S. and the remaining time he was stationed in Germany.

Steven and Mary Lou Keller entered into marriage on March 3, 1973. Together they raised two children, Stephanie and Justin. Steven worked as a carpenter and welder, retiring from Con-E-Co in 2017. His true passion was his carpentry.

After retiring, he and Mary Lou became snowbirds, heading south each year to Arizona.

Steven is survived by his wife Mary Lou and her daughter Kristi (Phil) Horn of Herman, children Stephanie (Robert) Craig of Herman, son Justin Sonderup of Omaha, sister Vicki (David) Angle of Omaha, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister Kathy Keller. Steven will be remembered for his steady hands, devotion to family and love of conversations with family and friends.

A celebration of life will be held at the Herman Legion Hall in Herman, NE, on August 23, 2025, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Services provided by Campbell Aman Funeral Home, Blair.
