McKercher Found Dead
George McKercher Found Dead At His Home Near Fort Calhoun Sunday
George McKercher, 79, who lived on a farm southeast of Fort Calhoun in what is known as the Rockport district, was found dead at his home Sunday afternoon, believed the victim of a heart attack.
Mr. McKercher, whose wife died in March 1957, was living alone.
Members of the family had visited him earlier Sunday afternoon. He was found dead about 5pm by his son, Everett McKercher, Omaha, who stopped to visit his father.
Mr. McKercher is survived by eight daughters, Mrs. Hildred Kessler, Mrs. Helen Canden, Mrs. Hazel Halan and Mrs. Mary Evans, all of Omaha; Mrs. Evelyn Gustason, Gering, Nebraska; Mrs. Gladys Clark, Kansas City; Mrs. Myrtle Ragsdale, Great Falls, Montana; and Mrs. Dorothy Dann, Wausau, Oregon; two sons, Everett and Clifford McKercher, Omaha, and several grandchildren.
The Sievers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements, which have not been completed.

McKercher Rites Were Wednesday
Funeral services for George McKercher, 79, who died Sunday, were held at the Fort Calhoun Presbyterian Church Wednesday, the Rev. Don Killian officiating. Burial followed in Fort Calhoun Cemetery.
