Ronald Frederick Sorensen, age 85 of Blair, passed away Aug. 21, 2025, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Community in Blair.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at 11 a.m. at First Lutheran Church in Blair. Visitation will be held Monday, August 25, 2025, from 5:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Campbell Aman Funeral Home in Blair.

Ron was born on September 29, 1939, in Blair, Nebraska, the son of Harry and Agatha Sorensen. He attended Blair High School and was very active in band, basketball and football.

He married his high school sweetheart Kathleen O'Hanlon in 1960. While raising his family he owned and operated The Blair Flour Mill. He continued to be extremely active playing basketball and softball with many of his adult friends well into their 60s.

Ron suffered the tragic loss of his wife Kathleen in 1989. He was lucky in life to have found a second love, Nancy Dierks, whom he married in 1996. The couple had many wonderful years together until cancer took her in 2015.

Ron's past 10 years were full of friendships and family, especially his Saturday morning pancakes with Molly, Mallory, family and friends.

Ron is survived by his children Peggy (Ming-Guang) Chen, Tom (Martha) Sorensen, Molly (Aarron) Meeves, Kate Johnson, Ron (Jenifer) Sorensen, Chris Sorensen, Janace (Pat) Grover, Alice Elder, Shawna Sorensen, Laura Sorensen, Kevin Sorensen, John (JoJo) Sorensen, Brian Sorensen and Mark Sorensen; step-children Heidi (Arnie) Wehmeyer, Karin (Doug) Pruess and Matt (Kitty) Dierks, along with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters Charlotte Jenson and Annette (Jim) Holtam, many nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Kathleen, wife Nancy, sons Andy Sorensen and Bill Sorensen, daughter Libby Phillips, grandson Jordan Becker, son-in-law Dean Elder and brother-in-law Dale Jenson.

Memorials may be directed to St. Jude's Children's Hospital. Services by Campbell Aman Funeral Home, Blair, NE.
