Denny Decker, 86, of Arlington, Nebraska, passed away October 5, 2025, at home surrounded by family. He was born May 15, 1939, in Omaha, NE, to Rusty and Laura Decker.
He married Althea Sheets on March 26, 1969, and resided in Arlington, NE, “The Big Apple.”
He worked at the Arlington grocery store for 40+ years and Arlington Public Schools for 28 years. He was part of the Arlington Voluntary Fire Department for 10 years.
Denny loved polka music, dancing, playing his drums, WWE wrestling, spending time with family, watching westerns, eating, and “stirring the pot.”
He never met a stranger and somehow got anywhere he needed without driving.
Denny is survived by his wife, Althea Decker, daughters Hansie (Gregg) and Laura (Jeff) Pleskac, seven grandkids and six great-grandkids.
Denny is preceded in death by his parents, Rusty & Laura Decker, and Clarence & Viola Kassebaum, who were like parents to him after his own passed.
Denny’s family requests no flowers. Memorials are suggested to the family for a fund yet to be established.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. on Oct. 18th at the Arlington Auditorium. A luncheon will be served.
