Linda D. Thomsen, 78, of Arlington, Nebraska, passed away Friday, October 3, 2025, in Fremont. She was born May 30, 1947, in Omaha, NE, to Emil and Nellie (Larsen) Hlavka.
Lind grew up in Elkhorn, NE.
She married Jay Thomsen on June 22, 1968, in Omaha and after marriage they settled in Arlington. She drove a school bus in Arlington for over 20 years and then was a secretary for an attorney’s office for several more years before fully retiring.
She was a member of the Arlington Community Church, American Legion Auxiliary in Arlington and Eastern Star Sarepta Chapter #48.
Linda was former mayor of Arlington, and she loved her animals, especially raising her horses.
She is survived by special friends Terri (Sean) Smal of Arlington and her daughters, Kelsey Westergaard and her daughter, Renley and Katie Westergaard and her daughter, Riata; one brother-in-law; two sisters-in-law; several nieces and nephews, and her dog Daisey.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents; husband Jay Thomsen; cousin, Col. Jack Grant; very special friend, Sherrill Bloch, and one brother-in-law.
Memorial Service will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, October 9, 2025, at the Arlington Community Church. Pastor Randy Sanders will officiate. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4-7 p.m., and the family will be there from 5-7 p.m. all at Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home in Arlington. Visitation will continue on Thursday 1 hour prior to the service at the church.
Inurnment will be at the Alington Cemetery.
